When you are looking for a floral area rug you will come across a surprising number of different styles. In fact, you will probably come across some examples which make you think again about the usefulness of these rugs and where they can be used. Here are some of the types of floral rug you will come across without looking too far.
1. Background Rugs
You will find some rugs which have very delicate subtle colors and patterns. They are wonderful as neutral background room-sized rugs where you do not want the colors to shout too loudly and detract from the rest of the decoration.
2. Accent Rugs
You will find a lot of brightly colored and highly patterned rugs which, in contrast to the background style, are meant to have impact. These ones are for putting out on full display and many of the smaller ones could even be hung on the wall as decoration.
3. Traditional and Ethnic Rugs
Many of the floral rugs you will see could be classed as traditional in that the same or similar designs have been around for decades (or in some cases, even centuries). They go with traditionally furnished rooms.
4. Modern Rugs
You will find contemporary rugs with bolder floral designs and more dramatic colors which would be at home in any modern room.
5. Folk Art
You will find floral rugs with the folk art style with lots of bright colors and small stylized flowers. These are great to add color to your floor.
6. Specialist Rugs
Not only will you see standard floral floor rugs for use in the living room and bedroom, also look out for soft pastel rugs designed specifically for a baby’s room, outdoor rugs in floral patterns made with weather resistant materials which work well on your decking or patio to create an “outdoor room” and floral bathroom rugs which would cheer up any all white bland bathroom.
