Submission Guidelines

Guidelines For Submitting Articles To ArticleTastic

NEW! The following guidelines are provided to assist those wishing to submit articles to the ArticleTastic article directory. These guidelines are designed to help you understand what we are looking for in an article, and what will get an article rejected.

To be accepted, an article:

  1. Must be of a reasonable quality.  Articles that have poor grammar and spelling, are badly formatted, or are poorly structured will be rejected. Articles that are walls of text, that is have no paragraph or line breaks are likely to be rejected. A three hundred word article should contain at least three paragraphs. Punctuation and capitalisation are important but often vary between writers. It is important to be consistent with these.
  2. Must be readable. Readability can be fairly subjective, but in essence an article should have a flow that makes it easy to read. When checking your article make sure that it doesn’t use words or phrases excessively just to bulk up the content. Try and make sure that each point flows into the next. Most importantly, an article has to make sense to the reader. A hard to read, or unreadable article will be rejected.
  3. Should use bullets points and numbered lists when appropriate. Using bullet points and numbered lists helps to break up an article and make it much easier to read. Doing this where it is appropriate will make your article much less likely to be rejected.
  4. Must not overstuff keywords. While it is good practice to make sure that an article has the correct number and type of keywords, overstuffing an article makes it less useful to human readers by reducing the articles readability.
  5. Must have content that matches the title. Where an article has a title saying one thing and a body that says something completely different, it will be rejected.
  6. Must match links as closely as possible to the subject. For example an article about cars that links to a website about food processors may be rejected, unless the article reasonably makes that association. Articles that link to sites that are associated with similar subjects, for instance linking a car article to a site for car travel holidays is fine.
  7. Must be at least 300 words. The ideal article size for ArticleTastic is 450 – 800 words. We accept 300+, but more makes us happy, and we are more likely to accept borderline quality articles with a higher word count. However, that doesn’t mean a high word count article can violate any of the other terms of these submission guidelines and still be accepted.
  8. Must be an original article, and not copied from other sources including but not limited to, books, magazines, or websites. Scraped content is strictly prohibited as is content created by article spinner software.
  9. Must not change the format of text. Other than using bold, italics, superscript or subscript formatting, submitted articles must not use other text formatting. This includes but is not limited to, changing the font style, font size, or text color. Heading tags such as H1, H2, or H3 must not be used. The strikethrough format should not be used. Any such formatting interferes with the site theme and will make your article more likely to be rejected. At the very least such formatting will be removed.
  10. Must not change the format of links. Link text should not be bolded, italicised, or modified in any way. Any additional formatting will be removed. If the article is on the borderline of acceptability, additional formatting of links may cause the article to be rejected.
  11. Must not contain or link to illegal content. This includes topics about illegal drugs, bomb making instructions, criminal how-to guide, or encouragement of criminal activity. Also included are items that are associated with drug taking, or other illegal activities.
  12. Must not contain hate speech. Inciting readers against any group or individual of any race, religion, or viewpoint is strictly prohibited.
  13. Must not contain or link to pornography of any kind.
  14. Must not be about or link to weapons or items associated with weapons.
  15. Must not use bad language, or swearing of any kind.

While articles written by English-as-a-Second-Language authors are encouraged, it is essential that articles are checked for correct grammar and spelling prior to submission. It is essential that ESL authored articles do not read like they are written by ESL authors. Articles that are well written but contain some errors identified as ESL are usually edited by our editors, but may be rejected instead. Submitters who outsource articles to ESL writers are encouraged to proofread the articles before submission in order to reduce the risk of rejection.

Authors also agree that there will be no right of compensation for articles submitted to ArticleTastic, or from any income derived from the articles by ArticleTastic while on this site. Article authors also agree that all articles are published solely at the discretion of the ArticleTastic editorial team. ArticleTastic takes no responsibility for any loss or damage caused by the rejection of any article, or for the later removal of any article from our database, for any reason.
